Presenters:



Darolyn Williams Brown is a novelist and poet. She hails from Detroit, Michigan. She holds a master’s degree in English from Wayne State University. She was a teacher of English and creative writing (Poetry) for almost 35 years with the Detroit Public Schools. As a novelist, she is currently working on her second novel, School’s Out, a murder mystery set in Detroit. As a poet and teacher, she enjoys working with the Flint Reads Pod Poetry Project (P3) as a literary consultant. Ms. Brown often presents oral interpretations of the poems of great poets like Paul Laurence Dunbar and Naomi Long Madgett. She will not pass up an opportunity to bring poetry to the people. In fact, it is her life’s work.



Sonya Pouncy is a Callaloo Fellow with a Master of Arts from Central Michigan University. Her poetry has appeared in journals including Callaloo, Temenos, Aunt Chloe: A Journal of…
