About the Event

Presenter: Lisa Sarno
Description: This interactive workshop will immerse participants in the transformative powers of literacy, collective dialogue, and self-discovery through the Black Dandelion Convergent Voice™ curriculum. Participants will be asked to engage, collectively, with the poem, “Black Dandelion” to facilitate confidence and increase feelings of accessibility to literature. Through a self-reflective worksheet, the participants will spend time crafting an “I Am” exercise that will culminate in an Identity poem. From that place, participants will reconvene and discuss the resilience and resistance present in their own experiences in relation to the Black Dandelion poem and share their pieces with the group.
