Presenters: Dr. Sharon Simeon and Jennifer Seymore-Dunton
Description: Struggling learners, neurotypical learners, and students with special needs succeed when using a curriculum that draws them in. Utilizing the poem, "Black Dandelion" by Semaj Brown, Flint Poet Laureate, in conjunction with its corresponding lesson plans, evolved from the integrative pedagogy, PSL/ Poetry as a Second Language: The Semajian Method™ allows every student to bloom through the Art of Unimagined Ecosystems.

Dr. Sharon Simeon holds advanced degrees from Wayne State University, and Saginaw State University with concentrations and State Certifications in Special Needs Education. She specializes in woking with children with emotional learning disorders. Dr. Simeon is a retired Teacher Consultant from the Flint Community Schools where she was also a general and special ed teacher and a dance and drama teacher.
